Najib gets concurrent 12-year jail sentence, RM210mil fine (Live Updates)


KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court here has sentenced former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to 12 years in jail and a total fine of RM210mil in default of five years in jail after he was found guilty of seven charges in the first of a series of cases involving the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) scandal.

Prior to sentencing, Justice Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali said he had taken into consideration several factors including the public interest, and observing key objectives of law enforcement.
